Kenka Banchō Otome Manga Ends

Post by Sour Puss on Fri Feb 03, 2017 2:11 pm

The March 1 issue of Hakusensha's The Hana to Yume magazine published the final chapter of Chie Shimada's Kenka Banchō Otome: Koi no Battle Royale manga on Wednesday. This year's fourth issue of Hakusensha's Hana to Yume magazine had announced earlier this month that the manga would end.
The manga adapts Spike Chunsoft's Kenka Banchō Otome PlayStation Vita game, though it began nearly a year before the game shipped in Japan on May 19. Shimada began the manga adaptation with a one-shot in Hana to Yume on July 4, 2015, and began the series in The Hana to Yume on July 25, 2015. Hakusensha shipped the first compiled volume on May 20.
The story centers on Hinako, who has grown up not knowing her parents and thinking she has no relatives. One day, a boy named Hikaru appears before her, and says he's her older twin brother. Hikaru asks Hinako to take his place at attending a famous private all-boys academy for delinquents.
Kenka Banchō Otome is itself a spinoff of Spike's larger Kenka Banchō action adventure video game franchise. Spike released the first game in June 2005, and the latest game, Kenka Banchō 6: Soul & Blood, shipped on the Nintendo 3DS in January 2015.
A television anime adaptation titled Kenka Banchō Otome: Girl Beats Boys is slated for this spring. Spike Chunsoft announced in November that the game is getting a fandisc titled Kenka Banchō Otome: Kanzen Muketsu no My Honey.
